Pittock Mansion

$$ · Portland, Oregon

A 1914 French Renaissance chateau the city rescued from the wrecking ball in 1964, built by the newspaper man who founded The Oregonian. Tour the period rooms, but the real draw is the east lawn: on a clear day the whole city lines up under Mount Hood like a postcard nobody had to Photoshop.
